I am so excited to share with you the news about my new home studio. Some of you will have seen the progress I've been making with it on my social media, with the help of Mr Bingley and some FABULOUS Charlotte Gaisford fabrics. 

 

I wanted to create a space that is the opposite of the conventional masculine looking recording studio of practical greys and LED lighting. Instead I wanted a space fit for a queen - feminine, soft, filled with colour and pattern. People think of studios as technology rooms where work gets done, but I want a studio that reflects the creativity that is going on within it. A place where new and wonderful things are made, but that is calm, soothing and homely.

 

I planned well ahead for this room to makie sure it was a place I wanted to be in everyday rather than a dreaded place of work. It’s at the back of the house away from the sound of traffic, and it overlooks the garden for those moments of quiet inspiration. It’s very private from the rest of the house and so even in a busy household it is a place of escape.  The pièce de résistance is the sound panels - 7 beautifully upholstered pieces that absorb the sound and create a stunningly quiet room for perfect recording conditions. 

 

If all goes to plan, it will be finished before Christmas. Just in time for you to grab a glass of wine and step inside with me while I continue reading Pride and Prejudice to you all throughout the cold season. I cannot wait to sit in this beautiful little sanctuary and bring more stories to life.
